For me, songwriting is less a thing that I do and more a place that I go inside of myself. It’s a safe, intuitive space that I have cultivated over the last seventeen years — but I remember first stumbling into it, almost by accident, as an anxious pre-teen.

I began writing songs when I was eleven years old, started performing live at thirteen and touring as a singer/songwriter at seventeen. While songwriting quickly became my professional path, it was first and foremost a tool I used to navigate the complexity of adolescence as a deeply feeling young person. It provided a space to ask questions, and receive answers in my own voice.

I have taught songwriting to teens and kids in group settings since I was a teenager myself and have long wanted to offer one-on-one sessions to work more deeply with folks.

This offering will of course benefit young people interested in songwriting as a professional craft, but is even more so designed for teens looking to develop and cultivate a creative outlet for expression and processing.

Due to my ongoing touring schedule, I can only take on four private students at any one time, so availability is quite limited. I’ve created a few packages below that are hopefully tailored to different needs/ timelines.

If you have a teen for whom you think this could be a good fit, please together fill out the following brief survey to be considered.
